We are specialists in importing and distributing several types of food articles:  fresh, frozen and consumer products. As part of its growth strategy, Fresmart invested in and developed National Production, together with the Executive Program for Production support, Import Substitution and Export Diversification (Prodesi). The production of national bananas in their own farm is a good example. In addition to creating jobs in the region, it allows all Fresmart stores to be supplied with high quality bananas at an affordable price. In fact, an important incentive to National Production involves the positioning of Fresmart, which aims to absorb much of the fruit and vegetable production of small and medium-sized farms. Allowing households to guarantee extra income that contributes to the livelihood of the family, entering a virtuous circle of self-sufficiency.

Fresmart is part of the Newaco Group. Originally from Luanda, Grupo Newaco has grown exponentially and evolved to be the leading frozen food distributor in Angola. Newaco is currently specialized in the trade of frozen and refrigerated products, such as beef, pork, poultry and seafood. We also offer a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. The origin of the products we sell is global. All our procurement is based on products that are carefully selected from countries in South America, North America, European Union, Australia and New Zealand. Our target audience is also comprehensive: from wholesalers, semi-wholesalers, retailers and the Horeca channel, as well as our Fresmart and Fresmart Express stores.

With a diligent focus on quality, consistency, affordable price and excellent service, Grupo Newaco has successfully earned the trust of its customers. Its strengths contributed to this: More than 52 storage and distribution facilities, more than 100 vehicles dedicated to the logistical operation and approximately 25,000 tons of capacity in frozen storage facilities. With over 10,000 containers being received annually, the logistical component is of vital importance. Our logistics department is composed of a dedicated team, equipped with an important fleet of delivery vehicles and a global distribution network, allowing us to achieve the goal of delivering in the same day we receive the item, preserving all the nutrients in the food.

Also in terms of innovation, the investment made in private label products – Sanodia, Oceano, Familia Feliz and Feliz Dia brands – allows Fresmart to process high quality products in its own facilities. All private label food products are vacuum sealed, which keeps the product hermetically protected during storage.
